Installing Hardware
For Windows OS
You may have purchased a new hardware such as printer, scanner, webcam etc. from the market and would be very excited. But when you come home and tart the installation, you realize that your PC does not match certain criteria for Operating System. For example, you wanted to install a printer but the setup requires Windows XP Service Pack 3, and you have installed on your computer Service Pack 2.
So, what you can do is simply plug in the hardware to your PC and power on the hardware. When your PC detects that a new hardware is connected do nothing but simply close the dialog box and Hardware Installation Screen that appears.
Click on Start button.
Click on Control Panel.
For Adding a Printer, click on Printers and Faxes.
Click on Add a Printer in the "Printer Tasks".
Your PC will detect if any Printer is connected or not.
When the search is complete, it will show the printer connected.
Select the printer and click on manual installation.
Select the path for your CD/DVD-Drive or Other path which contains the software which came with the hardware.
Click on Next.
The setup will automatically install the required drivers on to your PC.
Enjoy !!
